Every year on October 4, the Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) holds a . These vigils take place in communities across the country to honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, to support families, and to raise awareness of the systemic violence that continues to affect Indigenous communities.
The recognizes this violence as a “national tragedy of epic proportion.”
